VIBRANCE
Client : Havas Events /
Noor Riyadh Festival (2022)
What if your voice could transform space? What if, through its vibration alone, it brought a light sculpture to life? VIBRANCE is an interactive and kinetic installation that mobilizes voice and physical presence. With a playful yet poetic approach, VIBRANCE explores the sensitive dimensions of sound and its resonances on the human body. It invites each participant to experience how their own voice can shape space, revealing the invisible in a dialogue between light, movement, and vibration.
CONTEXT
This carte blanche was entrusted to STROBOSCOPE by curator Dorothy Di Stefano for the NOOR RIYADH festival, who wanted to artistically invest King Abdullah Park, one of Riyadh's busiest public spaces. Every day, thousands of people - residents, families, workers, and tourists - cross paths there, rest, and find a peaceful moment in the heart of the bustling city. This park then emerges as a catalyst for flow (human, social, energetic), a breathing space open to all.
ARTISTIC DIRECTION
It is from this poetic observation that VIBRANCE was conceived: a work centered on the idea of flow, circulation, and visible and invisible interconnections. STROBOSCOPE has created a resolutely open and accessible work, allowing everyone to connect with their inner self while engaging in a dialogue with others. Software (Ableton Live, Notch, etc.) is combined with technologies (a 3D camera, a microphone, real-time video, a transparent LED screen, and a light matrix). This device allows the participants' voices and movements to be materialized. The modular visual effects offer a spectrum of possibilities, with point clouds and propagating waves, creating striking visual phenomena over several dozen seconds.
